Just 20 minutes from Warwick on the beautiful Southern Downs, Connolly Dam campgrounds offer a beautiful bush setting on the banks of Connolly Dam.
Pitch a tent, bring your swag or tow your caravan – these campgrounds cater for all. If you want to enjoy the dam itself there are multiple options available. Chase the mighty Murray cod and monster golden perch with rod and reel or even enjoy a quiet paddle in your kayak or even a refreshing swim – this site caters for everyone.
As for the campsites themselves, Connolly Dam is home to 20 unpowered grass sites. There are no designated sites – all available on a first come, first served basis.

The Warwick Pentathrun is a weekend event held at the end of May each year. It comprises five races, each of which is a different “type” of race, which means a competitor has completed a Marathon Distance over the weekend in five different events.
Starting with a half marathon Saturday morning, followed by breakfast and a bus back to the start (yes, it is one of the rare race events where you get to run somewhere and not just in a circuit), then after a short rest, a 4.6km X-Country.
The Saturday concludes with a 5km flat fast road race followed by presentations.
Sunday is an early start for a 10km hill descent / ascent at Queen Mary Falls, Killarney, finishing again with complimentary breakfast, and the weekend concludes with a 1600-meter “sprint” race at the Warwick racecourse.

The Historic Leyburn Sprints is an annual motorsports event featuring historic, classic and modern-day performance cars run on the closed streets of Leyburn on the Queensland Southern Downs. Only 10 minutes drive to Stanthorpe. The western farm boundary sides with Broadwater State Forest, a broad expanse of public wild land managed by QNPS. Diverse wildlife include grey kangaroos, wallabies, echidnas, turtles, native frogs, brush tail possums and squirrel gliders. Wild birds include crimson and Eastern rosellas, king parrots, red-winged parrots, currawongs, koels, native ducks, cormorants, coots, bronze-winged pigeons, superb wrens, pardalotes, grey cuckoo-shrikes, firetail finches, white throated tree creepers and many many more. Campground features include piped dam water and stainless steel sink, wood BBQ, cast iron wood stove with oven, 2.5m counter top, fire pit with seating, outdoor pit toilet and shower stall with hook for a bucket shower. CALLEMONDAH FARM CAMPING Callemondah is a 1500 acre Farm owned by Norm and Rhonda Betts located south of Warwick in Queensland. Callemondah is Aboriginal for “Many Hills” and the Farm is an Aussie Whites Sheep Stud Farm featuring also cattle, horses, pigs and chickens. Callemondah Bush Stay Camping area overlooks a picturesque waterhole and a creek with great stands of gum trees spaced throughout a park like setting. There are fire pits to cook your food with and to have a campfire, just ask for a load of firewood from Farmer Norm. We have toilets but no showers yet and we have new undercover shelters for everyone. The farm is a scenic mixture of wide open grazing fields and areas of native bushland which features native bird life and wildlife such as cockatoos, black cockatoos, galahs, crows, mapgies, kangaroos, wallabies, goannas and more. The Rosenthal creek meanders through Callemondah Farm which is very beautiful and makes for a lovely walk or to sit beside and create a painting.
Ballandean Lodge is a 115-year-old grand Queenslander set on a six-acre olive grove surrounded by grapevines, making it the perfect place to unwind and take in the spectacular valley and mountain views to Sundown National Park – especially as the sun sets.
The Lodge’ s four bedrooms are all air conditioned with their own bathroom, toilet and wide verandah, allowing guests to retreat to their own private space after a hard day’s wine tasting at Ballandean’s numerous prestige wineries (all within minutes of the Lodge).
Briar Rose Cottages consists of three quaint cottages on the edge of Stanthorpe in the Granite Belt Region.
Mulberry Cottage is a two-bedroom cottage (sleeps four), Silky Oak Cottage is a one-bedroom cottage, and their newest cottage Cedar Cottage is a three-bedroom cottage (sleeps six). All cottages are fully self-contained with modern kitchens, a stove, oven, microwave and a range of cooking utensils and equipment. All cottages also offer a wood heater with all wood supplied and an outdoor fire pit to sit around in the evening to chat about your day’s adventures!
The cottages have all been recently renovated with new, contemporary furniture and fixtures. Mulberry Cottage boasts a beautiful open-plan living area and a large front verandah. Silky Oak Cottage offers a gorgeous spiral staircase leading to a loft bedroom, beautiful front deck and a large bathroom with a bathtub. Cedar Cottage has a front porch and rear deck, modern furnishings and a large private backyard.
