Abbey of the Roses Manor House

Warwick

Famous as the Rose and Rodeo City, Warwick is a thriving regional hub with a relaxed and friendly country town vibe.

You’ll find the balance is just right in Warwick – beautifully preserved sandstone buildings, the meandering Condamine River, pretty parks and gardens bursting with blooms in spring and summer, and lashings of country town charm with all the trappings of a thriving creative regional city. The city even has its own ‘City of Warwick’ (Arafuto) rose.

You’ll find plenty of interesting craft, gift and fashion shops where you are sure to find that unique item. Discover the towns rich history through heritage walks, steam train travel, museums and historic buildings. The Condamine River, source of the longest continuous river system in Australia, meanders gently through this vibrant town. Whether it’s Rodeos, Jumpers or Jazz (or all three), this town is rich with meaningful experiences.

Things to do:

  • Giddy up! Get along to the famous Warwick Rodeo and Gold Cup Campdraft, annually on the last weekend of October.
  • Need for speed? Spend a day trackside at Morgan Park Raceway, one of Australia’s busiest regional raceways.
  • Yarn bombing, trees in jumpers, live jazz in the street – don’t miss the colour and quick of Jumpers and Jazz in July, where the whole town celebrates winter!
  • Catch the best of local and touring exhibitions at the Warwick Art Gallery.
  • Step back in time and ride the Downs Explorer, Australia’s premier heritage rail experience – perfect for families.
  • Explore Warwick’s historic houses and public buildings with the History and Heritage Trail Book.
  • Pack a picnic and try your luck fishing for Murray Cod and golden perch at Leslie Dam.
  • Take in the non-stop exhilarating action of a polocrosse match.
