Amenities provided but would prefer vans to be self-sufficient with own holding tanks. Dump point is available at the free camp grounds past the corner shop. Tickets for the event must be pre-purchased as our land is inside the Sprints Precinct.

Granite Belt Retreat

At the end of a beautiful tree-lined drive you’ll arrive at Granite Belt Retreat. Set on 30 acres of natural bushland, the Retreat features 19 rustic cedar cabins, a microbrewery and restaurant.

Glenlyon Dam Holiday Cottage and Rare Breed Sheep Farm

Historic Cottage on the reaches of Glenlyon Dam is set on 150 acres of undulating traprock country.

Swimming, fishing and kayaking are only a 2 minute walk from the cottage, they also have a boat ramp.

It is a children’s paradise with seven breeds of sheep, some very rare, alpacas, milking goats, rare breed pigs, shorthorn cows and heritage poultry.

Wildlife include emu, deer, echidna, wallabies, goannas. Go fishing, stargazing and toast marshmallows on the campfire at night. Well behaved pets are welcome.

See some amazing birdlife and wildflowers. There are lovely picnic spots up the top of property with 360 degree views.

Hart Hill Camping

Hart Hill boasts a stunning 28 acres. The initial view of the property over the Thanes Creek causeway is that of a magnificent rock face. 400m down the road, through the gate, and over the ridge a lovely undulating fold is exposed baring a huge panorama of flat alluvial ground that hugs 1600M of creek.​

Sprinkled with gums, the camping area is flat, and every site has access to the seasonal creek providing opportunities to fish, swim, and kayak. Hugging the creek is a stunning shady lea cooled by the creek with an old windmill as a backdrop and an open area in the middle of the grounds provides plenty of space for kids to kick a ball, and dogs to run.

Old wooden stumps tell a story of an old mining hut, with a colorful history of gold diggers wanting to strike it lucky from the 1860’s. Campers have exclusive access to fossick and pan hire is available.

Aiming to ensure campers feel the heart for our property, campers receive country hospitality, going over and above to ensure sites are comfortable, people are alerted to what the area has to offer, what events and activities are happening, and feel they are in a clean and safe environment.

Surrounded by trees and granite boulders, Kambuwal Camping Area offers more intimate, sheltered sites perfect for small caravans, camper trailers, and tents of various sizes.

Known for its open, spacious sites, Terrawambella Camping Area is ideal for larger caravans, camper trailers, and motorhomes. The tent area here is reserved for large, organised groups.

Castle Rock Camping Area offers a variety of sites suitable for all campers, including dedicated spaces for persons with disabilities (PWD), ensuring everyone can enjoy the natural beauty of the park.

I have 6 sites at the moment each one is in a open bushland setting with lovely views, no site is within 100 meters of another and each one has a different view with lots of privacy. Kid friendly, shallow water,  and deep water for swimming or kayaking , creeks, animals to feed and heaps of room to run and play.  Adult friendly, huge sites for big groups and plenty of space great swimming and lots of things to here and  in the surrounding areas. Some sites are more suited to Caravans as the access is better and some are better suited to campers / 4WD but all can be accessed with a regular car. We have NO  road frontage so sites are private and quiet and safe and only 3ks off the New England Highway.  All campers MUST bring their own Chemical toilet and shower facilities. A small rest room and shower is available in case of emergency onlyI run a working farm raising Sheep and Lambs, Chickens, Ducks, Horses, Donkeys, Vegies, Preserves and Jams.

This property runs cattle and two horses, we also seem to accommodate neighbours goats when they escape their own property. We have an abundance of birdlife, a few hares and the occasional mob of kangaroos like to thunder through the property at dawn and dusk. Free firewood can be collected around the property and firepits are available. Campfires are subject to authority fire bans. Day visitors for fossicking/prospecting must book through Hipcamp for insurance reasons. No motorbikes allowed however bicycles are allowed on the tracks. Dogs are permitted but must be on a leash at all times for their safety and the safety of the other residents on the property both human and animal. Gold prospecting/fossicking is subject to rules that will be sent once you book your fossicking experience.

The property is home to a historic cottage built in the mid 1800s that is now the residence of a fourth generation local family. The property has a dam suitable for fishing and is teaming with native wildlife including Kangaroos, Fairy Wrens, Finches, Magpies, Kookaburras and Cockatoos. Pitch your tent or set up your van or camper and enjoy seeing native bird life and wildlife right at your doorstep. During the day you can do the local history tour or enjoy lunch at the historic Leyburn Hotel or Between Two Rocks Winery. You may even be interest in walking some local bush walking or hiking tracks. At night you can enjoy toasting marshmallows on the campfire (wood provided) or star gazing. Great places to fish in the surrounding waterways. Just 15 minutes into Standthorpe, 3 hours from Brisbane. Guests must be full self contained with their own toilet/shower facilities and must take all waste with them on departure. Campfires are welcome in the fire pit provided. Pets are allowed on leash.

Briar Rose Cottages

Briar Rose Cottages consists of three quaint cottages on the edge of Stanthorpe in the Granite Belt Region.

Mulberry Cottage is a two-bedroom cottage (sleeps four), Silky Oak Cottage is a one-bedroom cottage, and their newest cottage Cedar Cottage is a three-bedroom cottage (sleeps six). All cottages are fully self-contained with modern kitchens, a stove, oven, microwave and a range of cooking utensils and equipment. All cottages also offer a wood heater with all wood supplied and an outdoor fire pit to sit around in the evening to chat about your day’s adventures!

The cottages have all been recently renovated with new, contemporary furniture and fixtures. Mulberry Cottage boasts a beautiful open-plan living area and a large front verandah. Silky Oak Cottage offers a gorgeous spiral staircase leading to a loft bedroom, beautiful front deck and a large bathroom with a bathtub.
