Ridgemill Estate Harmony & Contrast: A Food and Wine Pairing Experience

This is not a traditional wine tasting. It is a guided learning experience designed to build confidence in pairing wine and food in real, everyday settings.

The experience begins at 6:30pm and runs for approximately 2 hours.

What to Expect:
Across the evening, guests will explore the principles of food and wine pairing through four carefully selected Iberian varietal wines, each presented with an educational focus on its character, structure and flavour profile.

Each wine is paired with thoughtfully designed tapas style dishes, created to demonstrate two essential approaches to pairing:

Harmony — where food elevates and softens the wine, creating balance
Contrast — where difference highlights tension and complexity

The experience is designed to develop intuition—helping you understand what complements, enhances, or disrupts a wine’s expression.

The evening transitions into a relaxed social setting, with continued tapas, networking and fellowship among fellow wine enthusiasts.

Wines for sale during the evening will be available to purchase at exclusive event only pricing.

A curated wine pack featuring the wines tasted on the night, including a take home fact sheet will also be available — designed to help you recreate the experience at home.

Cost: $50 p/p (wine club members) | $60 p/p (non-members)

Includes:
Wine education and take home fact sheet. A guided tasting of four Iberian wines. Paired tapas exploring harmony and contrast.

From the iridescent scales of butterfly wings and the brilliant colours of beetles to the precise camouflage of leaf insects. They are essential, functional, and “tiny treasures” that offer fascinating artistic patterns, from their movements to their physical structures.

Insects are crucial to life on Earth, acting as primary pollinators for flowers and crops (80% of wild plants), decomposing waste to maintain soil fertility, and serving as a fundamental food source for wildlife. They drive ecosystem health through pollination, seed dispersal, and nutrient cycling.

Almost any type of light-themed art is exhibited; this includes paintings, photographs & mixed media.

Jumpers and Jazz in July Festival

Queensland’s quirkiest winter festival is back for its 22nd year, bringing warmth, creativity, and community spirit to Warwick and the Southern Downs. Across ten vibrant days at the end of July, the streets come alive with colour, music, and art against the crisp backdrop of a country winter.

The festival’s heart lies in its spectacular tree jumpers – around 90 trees wrapped in extraordinary textile artworks designed by artists from across Australia and around the world. These imaginative creations transform Warwick’s CBD into a one-of-a-kind outdoor gallery.

But the festival magic extends far beyond the tree-lined streets. Visitors can dive into a packed program of workshops, exhibitions, and pop-up artisan markets, alongside beloved favourites like the Grand Automobile Display, hearty country breakfasts, and swing dance sessions. At night, jazz pours from laneways, pubs, and performance spaces, with everything from smooth classics to bold, modern renditions.

Whether you’re here for the quirky yarnbombing, the get up ‘n dance live jazz, or the warm country hospitality, Jumpers and Jazz has something for everyone. With more than two decades of history, the festival continues to grow as a celebration of creativity, connection, and community in the heart of regional Queensland.

The Red Dress created by Kirstie Macleod

A major international arts project will make its long-awaited Australian debut in 2026, with the globally acclaimed The Red Dress set to be displayed exclusively at two Queensland venues. Warwick Art Gallery will premiere The Red Dress for one week only before it moves the the Museum of Brisbane.

The Red Dress is a 14-year, award-winning global embroidery project that has connected communities across continents. Conceived by British artist Kirstie Macleod in 2009, the project provides an artistic platform for individuals — particularly women and those living in vulnerable circumstances — to share their stories through stitch.

Constructed from 87 panels of burgundy silk dupion, The Red Dress has been embroidered by 380 contributors — including 367 women and girls, 11 men and boys, and two non-binary artists — from 51 countries.

Each stitch tells a story: panels worked by refugees from Ukraine and Syria, artists from rural Africa, and community stitch groups in Australia speak to global and local experiences of displacement, identity and reconciliation. It is a rare work where craft becomes narrative, and garment becomes voice.

The project’s ethical framework has also drawn attention. Rather than rely on unpaid contributions, The Red Dress ensured that all commissioned embroiderers were compensated, a model that foregrounds dignity and economic participation in a craft sector historically undervalued.

The Mistletoe Waltz exhibition by Rosie Lloyd Giblett

This exhibition draws attention to the symbiotic relationship between mistletoe plants and painted honeyeater (Grantiella picta) birds.

Their mutualistic interdependence is a metaphor for stories of care and reparation. This multidisciplinary environmental art exhibition includes field work on Bigambul country near Goondiwindi, as well as creative experiments of drawing, painting and assemblage construction were completed in Lloyd-Giblett’s home studio on the Sunshine Coast.

The collection of works was driven by the artist’s desire to investigate historical, ethical and affective relationships she has with the Western Queensland landscape.

Through the making process Lloyd-Giblett embodied environmental art practices to create and imagine a speculative future for this site, grounded in notions of kinship, reciprocity and care

Drawn Together: Portraits of Queensland Homes Community Art Project Exhibition

The Warwick community was invited to pick up a pencil and share what home means to them as part of a special art workshop supporting children receiving care at Queensland Children’s Hospital. Last year alone, more than 1,900 families from Warwick and the Southern Downs region received care through Queensland Children’s Hospital and support from Children’s Hospital Foundation.

To show support for these local families, the Children’s Hospital Foundation alongside Warwick Art Gallery hosted Drawn Together: Help Make Hospital Feel More Like Home, a community workshop at Warwick Art Gallery, facilitated by artist Karina Devine, inviting locals of all ages to create a drawing of their home or what home means to them.

The workshop forms part of a statewide community art project bringing together drawings from across Queensland to create a collective portrait of the places that mean the most to us. Warwick Art Gallery will display all of the drawings created by participants in the workshops, and any other contributors.
