The property encompasses 37 acres, some of which is natural bushland and is situated less than 15 minutes from Stanthorpe township, making it an ideal base from which to explore the Granite Belt region. Their superb property is a short distance from the wonderful cellar doors and restaurants of this unique, high altitude wine region.

Their cottages and lake view retreat are generously stocked with locally sourced breakfast provisions, a complimentary cheese board and homemade sweets. Each have their own private deck for guests to enjoy stunning views of the surrounding gardens and lake. The cottages come complete with a corner spa to remove the aches and pains of a day in Girraween National Park. From April to October, the fireplaces in the cottages provide a cosy atmosphere and warmth to your stay.

Property is on the edge of Girraween National Park and 5 kms from the park headquarters by road. Local wineries such as Pyramids Road, Balancing Heart Symphony Hill are close by. Private camping area for vehicles and associated light camper trailers or tents. Caravans, larger camper trailers and Campervans are unsuitable unless car is 4WD with low.range required for heavier units. Campsite has a composting toilet and hot water shower with lights on movement sensors. Dogs are OK as long as they are controlled and remain tied up if necessary within the cleared camping area. Firewood is provided or can be collected nearby. A fire pit is established and is the only location for open fires.

Granite & Eucalypt Camp sits on “Mackenzie Glen” and offers a private camping experience for families and their dogs. The camp allows for self contained tent campers and caravans, camp trailers or RVs. We only allow 1 group at a time, so there will never be any other guests on the property whilst you are there. So once it is booked, the place is entirely yours. For example, if 3 families would like trip away with the kids, it will be exclusive to your group.There is a plentiful supply of firewood around the block that can be collected, if there isn’t a load already near the fire. A load of wood is normally replenished once a month and left next to the firepit.There is very limited mobile phone reception along Eukey Road and it is almost non-existent at the camp. Which is great if you want a digital detox! However, there is a way you can still be connected and these details can be provided upon request.There is no toilet… yet.

It was left for over a decade before the Newman family relocated to the area, fell in love with the place and began restoring it to somewhat former glory. It now operates as a hobby farm focusing on livestock, currently goats, and the owners have plans to expand their flock and try out some other ventures!

Glenlyon Dam Holiday Cottage and Rare Breed Sheep Farm/in /by

Historic Cottage on the reaches of Glenlyon Dam is set on 150 acres of undulating traprock country.

Swimming, fishing and kayaking are only a 2 minute walk from the cottage, they also have a boat ramp.

It is a children’s paradise with seven breeds of sheep, some very rare, alpacas, milking goats, rare breed pigs, shorthorn cows and heritage poultry.

Wildlife include emu, deer, echidna, wallabies, goannas. Go fishing, stargazing and toast marshmallows on the campfire at night. Well behaved pets are welcome.

See some amazing birdlife and wildflowers. There are lovely picnic spots up the top of property with 360 degree views.

Watch lambs frolicking in the paddock from the front verandah of the cottage.
