How to Do: Dalrymple Circuit Track, Goomburra

You’ll be swapping screen time for green time when you enter the Goomburra section of Main Range National Park. It’s home to rugged mountain ranges, spectacular lookouts, lush subtropical rainforest and some of the region’s most beautiful swimming spots. With plenty of trails available, the Dalrymple Circuit will only take about 30 minutes, but you’ll enter a whole new world. There are also private and national park campgrounds close by, as well as lodges if you like your creature comforts.

  • 1.2km circuit

  • Allow 30 minutes walking time

  • Grade 3 Walking Track

If you’ve got kids, make sure to print off the activity sheet (PDF, 339KB) before leaving home.

Head off from the Manna Gum camping area and across bridges and platforms over the cascades, riffles and pools of Dalrymple Creek. Stop and look for tadpoles, crayfish, platypus, insects and fish in the water below. The creek is home to many frog species, including endangered Fleay’s barred frogs (external link) .

Dalrymple Creek is one of the headwaters of the Condamine River, which flows into the Darling and then Murray rivers.

Learn about the rich history and natural values of this stunning area from trackside signs.
