Last minute bookings: Easter camping on the Southern Downs

With just one month until Easter, now’s the time to book that camping holiday for the family! We are spoilt for choice in our region for fantastic campsites and natural escapes for the whole family. From Goomburra at the northern end, to Girraween  at the southern end, it’s the best time of the year to pitch a tent and do some stargazing and marshmallow roasting.

Easter is our busiest time for camping on the Southern Downs and Granite Belt, so we’ve done the hard work for you and come up with the below list of campgrounds that still have availability across the Easter long weekend.

WARWICK AND SURROUNDS

Leslie Dam, Warwick

  • Cullendore High Country
  • Glendon Camping Ground
  • Freedom Lifestyle Park
  • Lake Leslie Tourist Park
  • Rose City Caravan Park
  • DJ’s Caravan Park

(At time of writing, the above camping sites had some availability over the Easter long weekend. Best to call to check availability as this may have changed.)

STANTHORPE AND SURROUNDS

While You’re Here

Make a weekend of it by checking out these other things to do in the area:

  • If you’re travelling to Girraween or Sundown from Brisbane you’ll drive right through Stanthorpe. Here’s a local’s guide on spending 24 hours there.
  • Travelling in Spring or Summer? Here’s our top 7 must visit waterholes to check out.
  • If you have the kids in tow, make sure you check out these 20 family activities in the Southern Downs and Granite Belt.
