Leanne Wicks is a textile artist and ornithologist from Kandos in NSW. Birding is a daily routine, and she is passionate about reminding people to look at the birds. Leanne advocates that watching birds can give insight into our own habits and relationships.

A lifetime of knitting provided a vehicle to combine Leanne’s two passions and her series of character filled, knitted artworks emerged. Previously exhibiting at galleries in regional NSW, this is Leanne’s first exhibition in Queensland. A highlight will be her installation of community made Galahs combining the talents of knitters from Warwick, Kandos and Bathurst.
